Outcome of the recent consultation

We recently asked for feedback on changes to parking restrictions in Toorak Village. Thank you to everyone who took the time to have their say.

After considering that feedback, the following changes will go ahead:

• 1-Hour parking will change to 2-Hour parking on Toorak Road, between Canterbury Road and Tintern Avenue
• 1-Hour parking will change to 2-Hour parking on Jackson Street
• The existing Taxi Zone on Toorak Road will be replaced with 2-Hour parking

The next stage of consultation

Before we introduce these changes, we're also undertaking a broader review of when parking restrictions apply across Toorak Village, and are asking for your feedback.

While the earlier consultation looked at changing some 1-Hour parking to 2-Hour, this next stage looks at the days and hours parking restrictions could apply, across the areas above and other streets across Toorak Village.

We're asking whether timed parking should:

• Operate 9am to 9pm, seven days a week
• Apply outside Loading Zone and Truck Zone hours, giving customers and visitors more parking options when those zones aren't operating

Regardless of the outcome of this consultation, the 1-Hour to 2-Hour changes described earlier will still go ahead.

Here's an example of what the change in hours could look like:

*Timed parking: the time limit would match other timed parking in the surrounding area, for example, 1-Hour or 2-Hour parking.

These changes would only apply to parking next to shops, cafes, restaurants, offices and other businesses, including buildings with homes above a shop or other business.

You are also welcome to drop into an information session and chat to Council officers in person, no need to book.

What happens next

The outcome of this consultation won't affect the parking arrangements already decided following the earlier consultation. It will help determine when the new parking restrictions apply:

• If the new operating hours are supported, the new restrictions will operate 9am to 9pm, seven days a week
• If the new operating hours are not supported, the new restrictions will still be introduced, but the existing operating hours will remain

We'll carefully consider all feedback before Council makes a decision, and write to you again to share the outcome. Properties that received a consultation letter will also be notified of the outcome by mail.
