  • Your Local Shops: Activity Centres Strategy

    Thank you for telling us about your local shops and what change and improvements you would like to see. The feedback received will inform the preparation of a draft city wide Activity Centres Strategy for our retail and commercial centres.


    The Strategy will set out a 20-30 year strategic framework for the future capacity for growth as well as identifying the economic, social and community role of individual activity centres. The Strategy will focus on indentifying how to improve the look and feel of our centres, the public realm with landscaping and enhancing walking and cycling access.

    The City of Stonnington coordinated all comments on this draft plan on behalf of its IMAP Council partners, the cities of Melbourne, Yarra, Port Phillip and Maribyrnong.

  • Heritage Policy Update (Amendment C132)

    An updated heritage policy is proposed to strengthen protection of Stonnington’s heritage places which are highly valued by residents and visitors alike.This amendment will apply to all properties already included in the Heritage Overlay and will not include any additional properties in the Heritage Overlay.

  • Glenferrie Road-High Street Structure Plan

    Council adopted the final Glenferrie Rd and High St Structure Plan at a Council meeting on 30 November 2015. At this meeting Council resolved to endorse draft planning controls for the purpose of a Planning Scheme Amendment. The public will be given the opportunity to comment on the proposed planning controls at the Exhibition stage of the amendment process in 2016.
