Glendearg All Saints Malvern Tennis Centre court lighting proposal

The Glendearg All Saints Malvern Tennis Club is a family-oriented community club that aims to provide a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment for all with an emphasis on inclusion and development. The club was formed through the amalgamation of the Glendearg Malvern Tennis Club and All Saints Malvern Tennis Club in 2013 and has grown to 380 members.

With just two courts, in order to cater for growing demand, the GASMTC has developed a proposal to install court lighting to enable the community to utilise the courts at night. The GASMTC will cover the full cost of the court lighting works.

Three lighting design options have been developed by sports lighting consultants. Detailed independent reviews of the three designs were carried out, which identified that the design by Buckford Illumination Group achieves the highest compliance with Australian Standards AS2560.2.1 – Lighting for Outdoor Tennis and AS4282 – Control of Obtrusive Effects of Light. A critical factor in assessing the designs was to ensure that the light spill into neighbouring properties is minimised.

The preferred design, developed by Buckford Illumination Group, can be viewed here.
