Reinstatement of Ferrie Oval

Following completion of the Toorak Road level crossing removal, the City of Stonnington will soon commence reinstatement and improvement works on Ferrie Oval at Sir Zelman Cowen Park and surrounding area in Kooyong. This work will leave long lasting benefits for both casual and sporting users.

These works include:

  • Reinstating the turf oval and cricket pitch, including upgraded drainage and irrigation
  • New seating for both spectators and casual users.
  • Tree planting and landscaping works.
  • Improved shared pathways for pedestrians and cyclists.
  • New fencing to provide a buffer between sporting and casual users.

We are also exploring installing floodlighting to improve access to the oval for junior sports and casual users. This lighting would be low spill and be directed away from local houses.
