The City of Stonnington is seeking feedback on our Draft Inclusion Plan.

The plan outlines our commitment to support people living with a disability, their families and carers to enjoy wellbeing, dignity and social independence and explains how we will act to build a more inclusive community.

At the 2016 Census nearly 3,500 people living in the Stonnington needed help in their day to day lives due to a disability, long term health condition or old age. In addition, there were over 8,500 people providing unpaid assistance to a person living with a disability, long term illness or old age. This represents over 10 percent of our population and reinforces how important it is to make Stonnington an inclusive place to live, work and play.

Research and earlier consultation underpins the draft plan, ensuring it reflects community needs and expectations. The plan explains the policy environment and legislation frameworks that shape the support provided for people with a disability, describes how Council currently supports people living with a disability, summarises earlier feedback during the development of the draft plan, outlines our vision for an inclusive community and identifies priority actions for Council to deliver.
