Providing feedback and ideas to Council will now be easier thanks to the launch of a new, custom-built digital platform: Connect Stonnington.

Connect Stonnington has been developed to support open dialogue and community participation in decision-making in an interactive and easy-to-use way.

The new platform makes it easy for the Stonnington community to learn about, provide feedback and shape some of Council’s most important projects and is part of Stonnington’s commitment to being a more accessible, transparent and responsive organisation.

  • Beatty Avenue Improvements

    Council has a strong commitment to improving the public realm and amenity within its many different shopping precincts. These improvements allow each shopping precinct’s individuality and local character to be expressed and enhanced within the public environment.

    In 2014, Council rebuilt the pavement at the corner of Beatty Avenue and Rose Street as part of its Shopping Precinct Improvement Program and provided more seating and greenery for residents, business owners and visitors to the area. These works have improved the safety and vibrancy of this busy intersection.

    Hawksburn Village is an important centre for local services, employment, housing, transport and interaction. Council has prepared a Draft Structure Plan for the Hawksburn Centre which sets out a plan to manage growth and change within the Centre for the next 20 – 30 years.

    At its meeting on 27 June 2016, Council approved the review of the dog lead status of Surrey Park, Surrey Road, South Yarra. This followed a number of requests by residents to review the current on-lead status of Surrey Park.

    Council is now seeking your feedback on options for the leashing status of Surrey Park. Included in this survey are three options for your consideration, as well as a section for comments.

The Alexandra Avenue Boulevard Planting Project aims to create a signature and identifiable boulevard with distinctive tree species that complement the existing residential character of the area and also respond to the Yarra River Biodiversity Project.
